photo editing

i've been working on Audrey's 2 year pictures and i'm trying to do some new things with the photos while also trying to use some nontraditional photos. i don't have them all ready yet but here are some... any thoughts? i am trying to work on my confidence in showing my photos but i do enjoy feedback :) what do you think? too much? too little? don't see a difference?

ticktock

there is never enough time in the day and i know it will only get worse as i get older. i need to quit my second job or my house will continue to stay a disaster (max is back at work) or i will never be able to do photography or my dogs will start barking when i get home because they think i am a stranger or my husband won't recognize me soon. poo.

waukesha weekend :)

My visit to Waukesha to see my little sister was a lot of fun! Lynsie and I had a very fast 4 hour ride over to her apartment where we brought our stuff upstairs and immediately headed for the Goodwill. Now I said this thing was giant and I meant it but sadly, they had the smallest book section I have ever seen! Do you know how disappointed I was :( It ruined the rest of my Goodwill experience and I left with only one book that cost me a dollar. Sad. Caitlin found a few skirts and a shirt and Lynsie found a pair of pants.
We then headed to the mall to poke around. A little money spent here and there, none spent by me sadly again. I think we were just buying time until it was a suitable hour to start drinking :)
Finally, we kind of started getting ready to go out and have some good, old drunk fun. While we were getting ready, we started with a few "cocktails" so that it wouldn't be an expensive evening. Needless to say, since we had barely eaten anything, it didn't take much but that is the fun of it right? We needed a weekend to relax and just have fun and we did! Lynsie, myself, Caitlin and Caitlin's friend Amber all had a very good time together. We bounced from one bar to the next, we ran into Caitlins "man friend" and hung out with him for a bit. His name is Beau and he is very nice... a bit bushy (he has a very large beard) but very nice. Eventually we got back home late, late, late and I fell asleep rather quickly. Everyone else stayed up and found somebody to get McDonalds for them. Like I said, I was sleeping through all of this.
On Sunday we kind of lounged around due to the evening before. On Sunday night we had tickets to go see Death Cab for Cutie who were playing at Caitlins school for only $5! Death Cab for Cutie for Caitlin is like Coldplay for me. She is a diehard! We searched around for the tour bus and found it right at her school even though it was pretty early! Went home, lounged, got ready and headed out to stand in line very early so that we could have a good place to stand close to the stage. It was VERY cold and VERY wet but I did it because I love my sister... sometimes. She did have a couple cases where she sounded just like my uncle Todd. To those of you who don't know what this means, she was being very gruff and snappy/grouchy. I guess I don't know how to explain it but it's pretty funny. You can tell she is a Jewell.
The concert was very cool even though we had ridiculous people standing in front of us. Eventually we got in a good enough position to see the stage and we enjoyed the show! They played a lot of their new songs which I hadn't heard yet.
Monday morning Caitlin had school so Lynsie and I headed out around 1130. I was very sad to leave my sister all the way across the state even though she has lived there for 3 years now! What a weird feeling!
Here are some pics from the weekend...

p.s. I dyed my hair dark

Easter

Even though Easter was a couple weeks ago, I wanted to show you a couple pictures of my super cute cousins! Max and I went over to Grandma and Papa's for dinner and my uncle Chris and aunt Darci came with Ayrica and Baylee. Max and I had a fun time seeing all of them and playing with the girls. We really need to see them more!

Ayrica on the swing.
Baylee being goofy, isn't she stinking cute!

All of us being goofballs.

The girls loved being picked up by Max :)
Baylee was super funny... almost the whole time she kept referring to herself in third person as "the deer". She would tell us that the deer wants us to push her on the swing, or that the deer wants us to chase her, the deer really likes us, ect... Seriously! Where does she come up with this stuff!

weekend getaway

This weekend, my good friend Lynsie and I will be heading across the great state of Wisconsin to Waukesha to visit my very crazy sister! I am very excited :) It will be nice to get away for a while even if it is just for a couple days... plus I get to hang out with Caitlin and meet some of her friends. On Sunday, her school has Death Cab for Cutie playing a concert there for only $5! Caitlin got tickets a while ago so that will be fun too! Waukesha also has the biggest Goodwill you will ever see in your life! Its like the size of a Kohls! I will for sure be stocking up on some books while I am over there :) you can NEVER have enough books!
Weekend photos to follow ;) hopefully soon that is!

There are some qualifications to being a Jewell

All taken in the span of about one minute.

audrey loves her uncle

Isn't this stinkin cute!

always late

I always seem to get my pictures on here after I have already posted about something but hopefully that will now change as my GINORMOUS computer has arrived! I am working on it now and I LOVE it! Thank you so very much my Max for knowing I needed one so badly!

Finally, my before and afters of the kitchen. No picture is going to accurately show how much better it looks but I can guarantee you it is much, much better. My walls are a copper color... not orange like the photos show.
My little Luca lion after his haircut. Even though he gets a bit chilly easier, he absolutely LOVES it. He much prefers his hair cut short we have found. Clyde gets confused because he usually picks Luca up by his hair but now there is no hair so he goes for his face and picks him up. No worries, we don't let our dogs beat each other up, this is just how they play. As soon as Clyde gets Lucas head, Luca will bite and hang on to his lip.

No words, this is after a week of my husbands hair growing out. Sigh, another couple weeks and it will be normal.

P.S.

People in the drive through,

You do not look cool with your cigarettes hanging out of your mouths nor do I enjoy getting a whiff of smoke through the drawer or tubes. Please desist your smoking while at the bank.

Thanks!

Your friendly bank tellers

Catch up

Life has been altogether pretty much the same as always. I am still work at the bank and working at Holiday. That takes up a pretty good chunk of my time.

Work has been unbelievably slow which is completely understandable. No one has any money to put in and no one has any money to take out and spend. So much for stimulating the economy. I think bank tellers know better then anyone how people are suffering everyday. We see it every time we help a customer out. It's quite depressing actually.

Max finally got called back to work at County Concrete so he should be starting back in the next couple weeks :) It will be very nice to see him get back into a normal schedule. He has been staying up until 5 in the morning and sleeping until noon. He is by nature a night person but 5 in the morning? That's pushing it a little far for me. By the time he finally gets all settled and is sleeping, my alarm goes off for me to get up and get ready for work. I am a snooze button pusher too, at least 3 times everyday. The last couple days have been worse though, haha, I have been pushing the snooze for like an hour! Don't worry though, I set my alarm knowing that I will probably do this. Every single morning I hope that I will get up even 10 minutes earlier so my morning doesn't run quite so close to being really late but it never seems to work. I guess I just have it in my blood to be late. Poo.

This past weekend I cut Lucas hair. Haha, he looks like a lion now. I cut his body really, really short which he absolutely loves and kept his face shaggy. Pictures don't quite show how cute my little lion is though because when I showed pictures to Coletters and Nikki, they didn't like it very much but everyone that has seen him in person likes it a lot!
Lately I have noticed my puppies are liking Max better then me :( Usually they are both kind of mommas boys but as of recently, not so much. I understand why they do as I am never home but still. It hurts my feelers a little bit! My sweet little babies don't need to be by me quite as much anymore. We will see how they do once Max goes back to work. I am a little afraid of how they will react! I don't want my couch to be destroyed or anything else for that matter! We will have to stock up on bones and toys for them to chew on in their spare time. Since it will be nicer outside (hopefully) they will get to go on walks also. That should help.

My Max bought me a wonderful present last week! He bought me a new computer with some of his poker money he has been hoarding away! Can you believe that? How awesome! This computer will be seriously so amazing for working on photos! I am so excited! I can actually start getting going on getting some business. The problem before was that my old computer was so bad, it couldn't keep up with anything I was doing. Now its to the point where it won't even load some pages on internet because it is so slow. That is quite a problem when you are running a program as large as photoshop. I hope that I can get some practice in before really starting to get some serious business... Anyone up for some photos? My favorites are babies and kidders, but I need some practice doing families... maybe some sporty business? Let me know!

My husband shaved his head. Yes, shaved his head. He has been talking about it for like a month and I have tried my hardest explaining to him that he has a head that is meant for hair but he didn't care. He shaved it. He was quite impressed with how round his head was meaning that some people have weird little dents or shapes but his was actually quite round. Doesn't mean it looked the greatest though. I told him I don't understand why he would want to shave his head when he as a very, VERY thick head of hair and most guys would be happy to have his hair and yet he is wasting it away by shaving it off. That didn't matter either. It's been about a week now and he has some fuzz on there. Already it looks better. It will be much better when it's like an inch or two long!
