Girl Weekends

I have had a couple of great girl weekends recently! With all of this working, a girl just needs some time to play! Two weekends ago, I went with my Monday crew plus Sarah to the MOA for some much needed shopping. I definitely got some things that I needed plus a few extras that just put me in a good mood ;) The only problem I had is that one of the pair of work pants that I got from Maurices left the ink tag on it and no Maurices around here has the correct thinger to remove it! So now I have to go all the way back there just to get the tag removed. Poo. They are very lucky that I need to go to ikea to get a few things for my new kitchen!

Here are some photos from our shopping, just some goofy ones. We were in Sears and right by the purses (which we of COURSE had to go by), they had an area for church hats! I haven't seen church hats in a while so I took some pics of us in our choice hats.

Sarah of course chose a yellow one to match her new shirt. Sarah is funny, she started the day in one outfit and by the end of the day was in a completely different one including shoes.
I don't even have to explain this one, Rachel is just funny. Nice pick Rach for the hat!
Fluffy one for Jessie Walton... Looking like a fancy lady.
Oh yes Lynsie, very saucy in your Kentucky Derby style hat ;)
This hat was giant! I have a very large head and I am not afraid to say it but this hat wouldn't even stay on my head it was so large!
Now, I don't mean to offend anyone by this picture but seriously, this was the largest bra I have ever seen in my life!!!! Lynsie and JW could have put their heads in each side and it would have easily accommodated them. In this picture I have a pack of three socks in each side and it still was quite saggy. I won't tell you the exact size because, like i said, I don't want to offend anyone but lets just say it was in the middle alphabet. Do you like the hat? I should have gotten it... dang it!
This past weekend I had another girls day/night with my work ladies! I got done at Holiday a little early and got to go with the work gals down to the tattoo place. For some reason, my goofy co workers got into a discussion about piercings and decided to go down and get some stuff pierced. Nikki and Colette got their noses pierced while Amy got her nipple pierced. Random huh? I watched Amy getting her piercing done... I was quite curious as to how they do it. I guess I can check that off my list!

Here is Colette getting hers done. Her camera ran out of room right as she was getting her nose done so I just took some with mine. Here she is just waiting. Look how she looks so professional even while laying down!

Haha, this was right when the needle was going thru her nose.
And the giant needle sitting there. I guess these photos are not for the squeamish.
I am going to try and get the rest of the pics from Nikki off her camera. After the while piercing business was done, we went out for the evening! Started at Applebees and made our way over L and M's in Roberts. I am not the bar hopping type, I am more of a club person but I had a lot of fun! Even Colette's husband came down and met us there! Nikki and I were very excited because we have not hung out with or even barely talked to Joe before. All in all, very nice couple of weekends.

Next weekend Max is having a poker party at our house. The first since October! He has been very upset that we haven't had one in so long but with the wedding and working 2 jobs, I don't have very many weekends off!

Shop. Shop. Shop.

no i don't have very much money to throw around... not much at all but there are some essentials that i have had to recently purchase that i am waiting for.

my countertop! i haven't ordered this online but menards should be calling soon saying they are ready for us to pick up! i love the color of our kitchen so very much and i can't wait to see the finished effect of our new stuff! you will understand when you see how nasty the kitchen was. plus once we get the countertop installed we will be able to use our new sink and faucet too... its one of those beautiful tall curved faucets. Luca will actually fit under it when i give him a bath :)

my glasses. i went to the eye doctor at the beginning of the month and haven't been able to order glasses until now! i have been getting some nasty headaches at work as of recent. if you can believe it, i got 2 pairs of glasses WITH anti flare lenses for 35 dollars. that's right, 35 dollars. Caitlin let me on to this website www.zennioptical.com where they have extremely cheap and good looking glasses for like 8-15 dollars! the anti flare lenses were an extra $5 per glasses so it would have been $25 with out that. pretty nice huh! i went to pearl vision to try on some glasses first to be sure of some that look good on me because obviously you can't try glasses on through the internet so hopefully the ones i picked will look alright. if they don't, then i can just get a different pair since they are so cheap!

oh my beloved books. i ran out of books to read. out of the hundreds of books that i own, i stinkin' ran out of books. i am trying to restock on books so that i won't run out again for a while so my mom got me a couple at a thrift store and i ordered 5 online for $25. on sat when i go shopping with the girls from some of max's poker winnings (i really need work clothes), i am hoping to get them to stop at goodwill so i can take a look at the books there. i can't wait for garage sale season where i can get tons of books for a quarter!

as i said before, I am going shopping on sat with my lady friends and i am so very excited about it! i haven't gone mall shopping since my birthday last july. yes. LAST JULY! i have done a little jcpenny shopping since then but just to get a few sweaters for work for the winter. i have been running on one pair of work pants for a while now and a little variety would be nice! we are heading to the mall of america and ikea and i CANT. WAIT!

waiting for these things has been making my week go by quite slow but working so much has been making my week go by very fast. does this mean time is going normal for me?

i heart

i just NEED. TO. GET. A. MOVE. on my photography stuff!

i miss taking photos so very much.

since i have been working both jobs and with the wedding in december, i just haven't had time to
even pull out my camera.

it makes me very sad to think that while i am working away at these jobs that are not my heart filled joy, my favorite (most expensive) thing i own, is sitting in my office.

i don't have photoshop on my computer right now either and that makes me sad.

i have all those wedding photos that i want to play around with and i can't!

jw, can you help me with this please?!?!?!?!

a new computer would be a dream too... that will come someday right?

i might have to steal some kids soon so that i can remember what it feels like to have my camera in my hand!

molly? can i steal mya? i can steal my niece too, she's due for her 2 year pics.

now, just to steal some time away from mother nature....... or father time. whoever.

update

it's hard to figure out what to say sometimes, you know? do you dive right in or do you start out with something inconsequential like I am doing now? poo, either way, I have to write! It's been way to long!

max and i painted the kitchen this week. we also ordered our new counter top and picked out a new sink and faucet :) our kitchen will look so beautiful in 7 to 10 days when the counter gets here! it will be a brand new looking kitchen for not too much money. it is just a cosmetic makeover that we are doing now. we were originally planning on remodeling the whole deal but basically the kitchen, bathroom and dining room would all have to be done at the same time and since we have decided that we are going to move eventually, it is not in our best interest to do that. we still have to make things look good though so that when we do sell, the house won't sit for a year.

the counters will be a beautiful blend of dark browns, a little black and a little gold in there. it is called milano mahogany. i know that it is hard to describe counter top but i did take before pictures and i will take after pics so that we can see the difference. we painted the kitchen walls a coppery color. it is actually called copper beech and it is beautiful! most people probably won't like it but max and I both enjoy a good bold color choice so we both like it. i was a little apprehensive when the paint was going on the walls because it was very orangy but the next day the walls looked much better. you can definitely see the orange tones and the brown tones in it. it matches the counters real good and I know this because we stole the paint and the counter top from the Menard's display case. haha, max and i aren't very good at figuring those types of things out on our own so we stole other peoples ideas :) hey, if it works it works right?

i have been looking into getting a tattoo lately. it's been incredibly boring at work so i just randomly started looking up tattoo ideas. then i find out that jw wants to get a tattoo so then it got me to thinking even more about getting a tattoo. i haven't really thought about getting one before because I just didn't know what i would want to put on my body forever and ever but if it had significant meaning and it looked awesome, then i think i would. I would love to get a tattoo that my mom and my sister would have too. kind of a shared family tatt... or get one with my friends... but i can only think of one that i would get to symbolize my max. no worries, i would never get his name tattooed on me but something else. I love the look of script or something like that and I would want to put it on my ribs. it would hurt like a mofo but oh well. what sorts of tattoos does everyone else have? can you give me any ideas?

its been a pretty rough winter with max not having a job... his unemployment obviously is an incredible help but not like having a good job and a steady paycheck. we were talking last night about how we would combine our bills and such once he starts back up at county. hopefully that will help with paying back some of the debt that has been racked up due to no job from the other half. i told him that i want to take control over the bills, i will feel much better knowing exactly where everything is going. so at least we have a plan but a job is the first step! does anyone know of anything? he has an associate degree in accounting so he could do accounts receivable/payable or something along those lines? he is willing to travel...

anyhooo, until next time!

25 Things About Me

I got tagged on Facebook but since I am never on there I will do it here! Plus it will waste time at work ;)

1) I wear a size 8 in shoes... it seems like everyone else does also because I can never find the right shoe in my size. I have many pairs of shoes but none that I seem to be able to wear! I have lots of cute high heels but since they are open toe, I cannot wear them at work. Watch out, I might drop a $5 dollar bill on my toes...I

2) I think that after 7 years in customer service, I would love a job where I could sit at a desk and not be bothered all day long by crabby, unappreciative people.

3) Along with #2, I would LOVE a job where I could travel. I want to go EVERYWHERE. Anywhere and everywhere... Good thing Max is like that too, we will be able to agree on where to travel.

4) I dislike odd numbers. I'm just not fond of them. Hence my wedding date 12-06-2008. I told Max we needed to get married within the year so we wouldn't be married in 2009. He thinks I am crazy but oh well!

5) My favorite band of ALL TIME is Coldplay. They are just amazing. JW and I saw them in concert a few months back and they put on an incredible show. You can bet that I will be going to next one and will be splurging and getting closer seats :)

6) My dogs have middle names. Luca Henry and Clyde Danger (you can tell Max named Clyde)

7) While I am quite satisfied with my life, I always wonder where it would have gone if I had made different decisions. Where would I be right now and would I have been as satisfied as I am now.

8) I love my friends so very much. They mean the world to me and I am so lucky to have them in my life and to have been friends with them for so long. I can be myself with them and have absolutely no worries about what they will think of me.

9) I am a very different person around my family then I am around my friends. Sometimes I wish I could just be the same with both sides. I wish I could be as affectionate and outgoing with my family as I am with my friends and I wish that once in a while I could be reserved around my friends without seeming crabby.

10) I really enjoy singing. I may not be good at it but I do it anyway and I know A LOT of songs! Max is constantly impressed by my knowledge of songs. I may not know the whole song but I will more then likely know some of it. I am always singing at work, customers get a real kick out if it even if my boss doesn't. I do a great impersonation of Cher.

11) I like my cereal soggy. Captain Crunch never tasted better :) I don't like Cinnamon Life and Frosted Mini Wheats soggy though. If Max isn't around to cook me supper, more then likely I will have cereal. Haha. I don't have much for culinary skills.

12) My very favorite article of clothing is socks. I wear them all year round even in the summer. I mostly just wear them at night in the summer though. There is just nothing like the feeling of pulling on a fresh new pair of socks and feeling them all nice and tight on your feet. Makes them nice and toasty warm!

13) I cannot pick out paint colors that look good. Max and I remodeled half the house so far which included moving the staircase, the living room, the office, two bedrooms and the entrance for the attic room. We also repainted the bathroom because it looked nasty. Of all these rooms, we had to repaint one bedroom, the office, and the bathroom because the colors I picked out were not very good. Max says I am no longer allowed to pick out colors alone. Since we are now "cosmetically remodeling" the kitchen, I will be sure to have help from Max so that if the paint color looks bad, it will be just as much his fault as mine. Let's hope that we don't screw up on picking out the countertops!

14) I dislike most fruits. Absolutely nothing with berry at the end of it. Nothing tropical. I enjoy apples to the extreme, throw anything apple (especially desert) in front of my face and I will probably pin you to the ground so that I could eat it. I like bananas, watermelon, cantaloupe and grapes. Grapes being my most recent discovery. I hated grapes as a kid and tried them out a few months back to see if my taste buds had changed and sure enough they had! I then tried the rest of the fruit that I dislike so much and still dislike them.

15) When we down in St. Croix for our wedding, I discovered that I very much enjoy the flavor of mango which was weird considering my dislike of tropical fruit. Mango drinks are just so very delicious especially when paired with orange. The other day Molly brought a mango to work and I took a bite of it and I liked it!

16) I am a very organized person when it comes to things outside of my own home. I like to keep my desk clean and things easy to find and frequently reorganize what I can to make my area feel new. I make up a lot of logs, charts, ect... on Excel for the Teller Line to keep our info organized as well. Too bad I am not so good at this when it's my own house... probably because I would have the buy the materials myself to keep the stuff organized!

17) I am extremely close with my mom. I talk to her just about everyday except for the weekends when she is working. I hate being so busy since I don't get to see her very often at all. I don't really see any of my family very much compared to how often we see Max's side. They are a very close nit family compared to ours although I wish we were this way.

18) I have a very boring, unimportant life. It's taken me 3 days of on and off writing to even come up with 17 remotely interesting things about myself. No good, I need to spice up my life! Having 2 jobs really takes a toll on ones social life.

19) I don't watch tv very much. I am more of a movie gal but my favorite tv shows that I do not miss are Grey's Anatomy, Gossip Girl, and Lost. I watch these weekly but I follow House and The Office when the come out by season. The 3 I watch weekly I usually watch with JW at her house because since I am working at the gas station at night and she has homework at night, JW downloads the 3 shows for us and we watch them on Sundays. She can play them right from her computer, hook it up to her BIG A** tv and we happily watch the shows like they were actually on but without commercials!

20) I am a celebrity gossip junky. I don't know what to say... bad habit!

21) I am a photographer. I went to school for it and I do it on the side especially in the summer. I LOVE shooting babies, they are my very favorite and I think that I am the best at babies, and regular portraits in general. I do shoot weddings although I am still fairly new at that. I wish there were some photographers around my area that have the same sort of style that I like so I could intern with them but everyone around here seems to have the same general style. I will just have to work on it myself and help out at every wedding my friends ask me to do plus the couple of weddings I do myself. If anyone wants some photos taken, I would be happy to do that for you!

22) My dream house would have built-in bookcases, many many many fireplaces and a wraparound porch. :)

23) I want to see all the 7 Wonders of the World but especially the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal and the Colosseum. I guess this relates to #3

24) Max and I want a large family. We do not agree on how large though as Max literally wants like 8 kids. That is absolutely NOT happening but I think 4 would be just fine. I don't know where he will get those last 4 kids but it won't be from me!

25) I really want to move. Everyone says they want to get out of this cold weather but I really would if I could. I would like to move to Tennessee or the Carolinas or something. I hate these frigid winters, I am a freezebaby. I don't winter itself but a less cold one would work perfect for me. Unfortunatly, my hubbie is the opposite and has a really hard time with heat. He wears tshirts and shorts all year around and we have to keep our house at around 63 in the winter. In the summer he has the air conditioning running all the time at freezing temps and has a special air conditioner for our bedroom. Errgggg

FINALLY! It took me quite a while to think of 25 things!

You've never heard of Tunica?

My max is leaving in an hour for Tunica, Mississippi. His friend Justyn won free airfare and hotel for two and since Max hasn't got much to do he got to with him! What the devil is in Tunica Mississippi you say? Well, its the 3rd largest gaming city in the country... right behind Vegas (#1) and Atlantic City (#2). Don't worry, I've never heard of it either. I keep thinking its Tacoma in my head. I must be getting my states mixed up!

Anyway, he will be gone until Saturday night :( I will miss my Max *sniff *sniff

Tunica is on the top left of the map here... Almost in Tennessee. You see it?
