I learned a couple of things

Fact one: Swiffer Wet Jets while helpful, will do this to your hardwood floors if leaking and left out all night. That sucks.

Fact Two: Don't leave the dog food out if the dogs haven't in fact finished their dinner. Mice enjoy stealing pieces and storing them for midnight snack. You will discover where 5 pounds of dog food went. You will not find it in the yard after the dogs finished with it but underneath your stove.

Good Neighbor Days

I had a good time this weekend :) I got to hang out with all my friends at Good Neighbor Days in Roberts. We all headed down to Colette's for a little pre-drinking and to just hang out. We made our way down to the beer tent where the Dweebs were playing. Once we made our way back to Colette's, we kidnapped some wood from the neighbor (doesn't make us good neighbors, huh?) and had us a little bonfire! Needless to say, we went to bed very, very, very late. i don't have very many pictures because of course my camera battery died. figures.

oh yeah...

I forgot to add socks. I freaking love socks. I forgot how much I love socks until this morning when I ran out of socks and had to wear my shoes to work without them. I lasted about 10 min before I ran over to Walmart to get some. Now my feet feel so very cozy in their new socks :) I love socks!

Things I enjoy

After taking much abuse at work for not producing any sort of blog recently, I have decided to take a cue from my mother and write about things that I enjoy. This is a way to stay positive and it makes you feel good thinking of things that you enjoy unlike when you think about things that tick you off. That always puts you in a worse mood. We are going to stay positive. Positive, positive, positive!

I very much enjoy lilacs. The smell, the look, the colors. Hmmm, mmmmm. I have many, many lilac bushes around my house. They are incredibly huge and tall and I can't get to many of the flowers but they sure make my whole yard smell nice. I have light purple bushes in the front, lining the driveway and around the side of the house and I have white lilacs in the back. We have so many lilacs in fact, that we tried to get rid of a whole bunch but they of course, are back. Would anyone like some? Come on over and dig some up.

I absolutely love anything apple especially apple desserts. Oh geez, there is no way that I could every turn away a plate of apple crisp or walk past a plate of apple danishes. Thinking about it right now, they might be my number one weakness when it comes to food. I should probably stop thinking about them, I am on a diet. Good thing I'm not going to the grocery store later!

When I am freezing cold (which is most of the time in the winter), I love to cozy up to a fireplace with a hearty fire going. Pull up a comfy armchair, curl up and read a book. Holy moses, that is probably one of the most comfortable things to do especially after you have eaten a huge meal and are way to full to even move. I could just sit like that for hours. My next house will for sure have at least one fireplace. Max will have to get good at splitting wood.

I really enjoy hugs. :) This might sound incredibly corny but I do! They make me feel real good and I am just an incredibly affectionate person. I hug almost anyone that I know. Now, I am not a hugger in a pervert way mind you. I only really hug people I know unless you get a few drinks in me, then I might hug people I know a little less. yikes! that's ok, just pretend you enjoy it too if I hug you in a situation like that.

I very much enjoy The Office. This show is freaking hilarious and I cannot wait for season 5 to come out so that Max and I can watch it. We don't watch it week to week, it's much better to watch it episode after episode after episode. A whole lot of funny! We also do this with the show House which I also, very much enjoy.

Oh how I love other peoples junk. Friday mornings, when I can go to garage sales, are just simply wonderful :) I have found many a pretty thing in other peoples junk. Photography props, books, lamps (a particular favorite), some clothes, furniture, ect. My house is filled with other peoples junk and I love it!

I am not a coffee drinker so when I am feeling like a warm drink, a orange tea is just the ticket. I like most tea but orange is my favorite. Warms a body right up! I think I actually have a couple teapots but now I have an electric pot that warms up water in less then a minute. It is amazing! I would strongly suggest investing in one of these if you are also a tea drinker.

Positive, positive, positive! (I have been literally trying to get this blog done since 11 this morning.) Tootaloo for now! Hopefully I will get back in the mood for blogging!

honeymoon road trip

Now you might say that getting married in the Caribbean qualifies as your honeymoon but max and i do not see it that way. any excuse to take a vacation we say...

our plans are to go east and south to see some of that side of the country. max has kind of been that way but i haven't gone anywhere east so since our first road trip covered the western half of the state, this one will cover the east!

we were going to leave at the end of may but we have decided to switch it to july so that we can go to his sisters wedding in vermont. we had to extend the trip a bit and adjust exactly where we were going since we are going much more northeast then previously planned but i am very excited about this change! we got to see kaelas wedding which is very important. we have made it to all of his siblings weddings which took us all the way from bonaire in the carribean to idaho to right here in wi/mn so i really wanted to go to kaelas.

so our tentative plans are to stop for sure at niagara falls, then to kaelas wedding in vermont, loop through new hampshire and maine and follow the coast downward to atlantic city, washington dc, possibly down to south carolina depending on time and head on back up to wi.

i am very very very excited for this trip! i am also excited because not only did i take time off work for the road trip but since my bday and the coldplay concert are the next week and i already had time off for that, i took the next week off too! so i will have 2 1/2 weeks off of work. holy moses it will be awesome! no worries, i have enough vacation time to cover all this otherwise it wouldn't be possible to go!

now max and i have our general places we would like to go but i would LOVE any suggestions on places to go or things to see out east that we could maybe do. no one knows places better then someone who has already been there! rack your brains!
